Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ben Enwonwu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,765.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Enwonwu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christine in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,095,000.00 (€ 1,270,121.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ben Enwonwu erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.765,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Enwonwu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christine im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.095.000,00 (€ 1.270.121,47).
