Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work 1943 (painted relief) by Ben Nicholson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 201,600.00 (€ 231,492.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1943 (painted relief) von Ben Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 201.600,00 (€ 231.492,81) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit April 57 (Arbia 2) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.749.000,00 (€ 4.423.451,41).
