Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work 1919 (Blue Bowl in Shadow) by Ben Nicholson. The price achieved of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 170,272.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
