The work Anyanwu by Ben Enwonwu was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,695.91), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Enwonwu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christine in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,095,000.00 (€ 1,270,121.47).

Die Arbeit Anyanwu von Ben Enwonwu wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 52.920,00 (€ 62.695,91) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Enwonwu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christine im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.095.000,00 (€ 1.270.121,47).
