This artwork by Basilius Besler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2010. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Iris Bulbosa flore diluto coeruleo; and Gladiolus Italicus flore rubro sold for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,595.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basilius Besler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,386.55).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Basilius Besler erzielte im Dezember 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Iris Bulbosa flore diluto coeruleo; and Gladiolus Italicus flore rubro für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.595,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basilius Besler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.386,55).
