This artwork by Basilius Besler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2004. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Hortus Eystettensis: Two Plates sold for USD 5,377.50 (€ 3,972.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Basilius Besler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,386.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Basilius Besler erzielte im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wurde die Arbeit Hortus Eystettensis: Two Plates für USD 5.377,50 (€ 3.972,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Basilius Besler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.386,55).
