Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Study Of Thomas Edward Lawrence 'Lawrence Of Arabia' (1888-1935) by Augustus John. The price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,852.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 487,500.00 (€ 415,140.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of Thomas Edward Lawrence 'Lawrence Of Arabia' (1888-1935) von Augustus John zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.852,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus John erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 487.500,00 (€ 415.140,94).
