In April last year Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work Thésée combattant le centaure Biénor by Antoine-Louis Barye. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,545.22), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine-Louis Barye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Angélique Et Roger, Montés Sur L'Hippogriffe (Bouche Fermée) [Seconde Version|AID1005825] in February 2016 with an auction result of EUR 237,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thésée combattant le centaure Biénor von Antoine-Louis Barye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.545,22) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine-Louis Barye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Angélique Et Roger, Montés Sur L'Hippogriffe (Bouche Fermée) [Seconde Version|AID1005825] im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 237.400,00.
