Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Justus Sustermans; and The Mocking of Christ (two works) (Hollstein 12, 20; Mauquoy-Hendrickx 12, A; New Hollstein 11, 519) by Anthony van Dyck was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Sothebys in London in December 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,254.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony van Dyck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 5,858,750.00 (€ 6,527,167.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Justus Sustermans; and The Mocking of Christ (two works) (Hollstein 12, 20; Mauquoy-Hendrickx 12, A; New Hollstein 11, 519) von Anthony van Dyck wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Prints bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Princess Mary (1631–1660), daughter of King Charles I of England, full-length, in a pink dress decorated with silver embroidery and ribbons im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.858.750,00 (€ 6.527.167,10).
