Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work A Wooded River Landscape With Fishermen In The Foreground, Montfoort Castle And A Fortified Town Beyond by Anthonie Jansz. van der Croos for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,913.60). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthonie Jansz. van der Croos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With View Of Leiden in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 127,343.26).
