Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Andy Warhol could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts auction, the work Unknown Female changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,411.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
