Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which included the work Lamentation, from Martha Graham by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,215.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lamentation, from Martha Graham von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.215,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
