Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which included the work Joseph Beuys by Andy Warhol. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,263.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts durch, in der auch die Arbeit Joseph Beuys von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 57.263,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
