This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Butterfly sold for HKD 1,234,800.00 (€ 148,004.47) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 480,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andy Warhol erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Butterfly für HKD 1.234.800,00 (€ 148.004,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 480.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
