The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,440.75), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexei Vasilievich Hanzen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot At Dusk sold at auction in December 2015 with the realized price of GBP 36,250.00 (€ 49,225.76).
