Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Unfailing In A Summer Drought by Alexandre Calame. The price achieved of GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,512.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Calame achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ruine Unspunnen vor dem Blick auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau, 1860 in June 2010 with an auction result of CHF 324,000.00 (€ 244,654.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unfailing In A Summer Drought von Alexandre Calame zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.845,00 (€ 5.512,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Calame erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ruine Unspunnen vor dem Blick auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau, 1860 im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 324.000,00 (€ 244.654,14).
