Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An arched bough in a garden; and Benches overlooking the coast by Albert Nikolaevich Benois was sold in the Russian Pictures Including Post-War and Contemporary Art Part II auction at Christies in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,778.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Albert Nikolaevich Benois have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Venice From The Riva Degli Schiavoni in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,379.32).
