Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Chief J.D. Akeredolu by Akinola Lasekan was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art Online auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,526.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Akinola Lasekan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a girl wearing a headscarf, which sold at auction in March 2020 for GBP 43,812.00 (€ 49,472.72).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Chief J.D. Akeredolu von Akinola Lasekan wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art Online bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.526,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden.
