The work Colored Pots (Up And Down) by Ai Weiwei was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,484.34), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ai Weiwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,853,881.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Colored Pots (Up And Down) von Ai Weiwei wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.484,34) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ai Weiwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.853.881,79).
