This artwork by Abraham Mignon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2005. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A swag of fruit and flowers hanging from a nail sold for USD 32,400.00 (€ 26,236.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Mignon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life With Peonies, Roses, Parrot Tulips, Morning Glory, An Iris And Poppies In A Glass Vase Set Within A Stone Niche And Caterpillars, A Snail, A Bee And A Cockchafer On The Ledge Below in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 669,600.00 (€ 994,510.57).
