A glass panel leaning against the wall shows a photo print of an abyss taken on a mountain hike. The spatial dimensions of the motif are broken up by the transparency of the print with the clear structure of the wall and floor.
If the viewer gets close enough, they will be reflected in the glass pane.
He looks through his image into the abyss of the mountain landscape and at the same time at the ground on which he stands.

This series is about the space in the beehive. About organization and flexibility, order versus the joy of playing. Starting from the clear, geometric basic shape of the honeycomb structure, you discover the smaller and larger deviations in perfection. The principles developed over many millennia guarantee a high level of effectiveness, but as you can clearly see in the bee colony, they are never rigid. Everything is reinterpreted again and moves within certain limits scales, organic. Disturbances/changes are noticed and further developed.
It shows us the eternal game of life from a different perspective.

The three-part series "ab uno" refers thematically to the symbol of "unity".
*Omnia ab uno (Everything from the One). Omnia ad unum (Everything towards the One) describes the harmonious linking of microcosm and macrocosm. ...The circumference is in the point, in the seed lies the fruit, God (the cosmos) in the world..." *(Daniel von Czepko, alias Angelus Silesius, 1605-60).
The photographs for this series were taken in a quarry in Sardinia, and some of the dimensions are enormous, but could also have been taken in a sandpit. They are difficult to categorise as there is no human being to be seen with whom one could relate the surroundings.
It is about the dissolution and reorganisation of structures. The destruction of the old from which something new can emerge. The eternal change that creates something new creates a temporary equilibrium and then disintegrates again. According to our calculations, the same laws can be found in the universe as well as in the smallest plant.
"ab uno" is an attempt to trace the beauty of the very own rhythm of this process in order to perhaps intuitively understand more about it.

Ideas of the ideal idyll extend particularly to landscapes far removed from everyday surroundings, such as holiday and leisure destinations.
In the three-part series created on Mallorca, Christiane Fleissner gets to the bottom of these "dream landscapes" and seeks to explore the nature of the built-up landscape by separating different architectural structures. Text excerpt: Dr. Annika Schoemann
