March 02, 2022

From March 3 to 6, 2022, the 30th edition of the New York Outsider Art Fair will take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. The international exhibition will feature a total of 65 exhibitors, focusing on so-called outsider artists who work in a variety of media. It is considered the first art fair to concentrate specifically on self-taught art, presenting works by recognized masters as well as living artists such as George Widener, Susan Te Kahurangi King, Shinichi Sawada, Christine Sefolosha and Luboš Plný. Known for its unconventional spirit, the Outsider Art Fair (OAF for short) continues to play an important role in building a passionate collector community and recognizing outsider art in the contemporary art scene.

The Outsider Art Fair was founded in New York in 1993 and acquired by gallery owner Andrew Edlin's company, Wide Open Arts, in 2012. The following year, under new management, OAF earned glowing reviews and more than tripled previous attendance records. Energized by this success, Wide Open Arts brought the fair to Paris for the first time in October 2013, helping to revive that city's long tradition of so-called »Art Brut«. Today, OAF is held every two years in New York City and Paris.Art.Salon
