In March 2019 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Important Collections of Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from Asia, which included the work Reading In The Chamber by Zheng Wuchang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 82,600.00 (€ 9,372.32), 65% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zheng Wuchang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscapes Inspired By Wu Wenying'S Poetry in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 16,375,000.00 (€ 1,871,638.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im März 2019 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Important Collections of Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reading In The Chamber von Zheng Wuchang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 82.600,00 (€ 9.372,32) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zheng Wuchang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscapes Inspired By Wu Wenying'S Poetry im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 16.375.000,00 (€ 1.871.638,28).
