Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Doctor(Painted in 2004) by Zhang Xiaogang was auctioned at China Guardian in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,200,000.00 – 4,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,640,000.00 (€ 338,304.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Xiaogang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bloodline Series The Big Family No. 2 in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 98,035,000.00 (€ 10,340,568.27).
