Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishermen on the Bay of Fundy by William Bradford for USD 40,000.00 (€ 34,275.92). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Fine Art, Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Sun, The Arctic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,314,353.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fishermen on the Bay of Fundy von William Bradford für USD 40.000,00 (€ 34.275,92) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Fine Art, Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Bradford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Sun, The Arctic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.445.000,00 (€ 1.314.353,28).
