Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work American Ship And Fishing Port by William Bradford was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,133.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bradford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight Sun, The Arctic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,314,353.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit American Ship And Fishing Port von William Bradford im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.133,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Bradford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight Sun, The Arctic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.445.000,00 (€ 1.314.353,28).
