Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Tabletop Still Life With Mandolin by Walt Kuhn for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,529.83). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walt Kuhn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chico in a Silk Hat in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,408,700.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Tabletop Still Life With Mandolin von Walt Kuhn für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.529,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art Online bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walt Kuhn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chico in a Silk Hat im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.408.700,27).
