Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Pele-Soccer Ball (from Football Players series) by Vik Muniz for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,028.65). This price was achieved in the auction Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction at Phillips in an online auction and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vik Muniz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Children: Valentina, The Fastest; Jacynthe Loves Orange Juice; Big James Sweats Buckets; Lil' Calist Can'T Swim; Valicia Bathes In Sunday Clothes; Ten Ten'S Weed Necklace in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vik Muniz erzielen.
