Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paris, France, 1983 by Tseng Kwong Chi was sold in the ON ARTISTS: Photographs from the Collection of Rex Inc. auction at Christies in New York in October 2007. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,751.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tseng Kwong Chi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York, 1987 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 110,746.88).
