Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work Dam street near Dam Square, Amsterdam by Tinus de Jongh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,062.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tinus de Jongh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work De Voordense Beek: a sunny autumn landscape with birches in February 2008 with an auction result of EUR 6,250.00.
