Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Love'S Missile by Lawrence Alma-Tadema was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 254,400.00 (€ 377,561.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 225,000.00 – 275,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).

Die Arbeit Love'S Missile von Lawrence Alma-Tadema wurde im Dezember 2006 in der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 254.400,00 (€ 377.561,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 225.000,00 – 275.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Alma-Tadema erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Finding Of Moses im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.922.500,00 (€ 27.556.382,33).
