Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Village Landscape With Travelers In A Horse-Drawn Carriage On A Path by Sebastian Vrancx was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,090.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastian Vrancx achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Four Seasons in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 2,339,854.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Village Landscape With Travelers In A Horse-Drawn Carriage On A Path von Sebastian Vrancx im April 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.090,90) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sebastian Vrancx erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Four Seasons im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.650.500,00 (€ 2.339.854,64).
