Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Modern Room (Study) by Roy Lichtenstein for USD 519,000.00 (€ 471,004.63). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Modern Room (Study) von Roy Lichtenstein für USD 519.000,00 (€ 471.004,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
