Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Andy Warhol, 'Marilyn' by Richard Pettibone was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction at Christies in London in July last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 24,074.62). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Pettibone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Andy Warhol, "Saturday Disaster," 1964; Train Wreck; Jasper Johns, "Flag On Orange Field," 1957; Andy Warhol, "Double Elvis," 1963 (Two Times); Roy Lichtenstein, "We Rose Up Slowly," 1964; Frank Stella, "Tomlinson Court Park" 1959; Andy Warhol, "Larg in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 688,000.00 (€ 5
