Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Paintings, which included the work Australian First Wattle by Ray Crooke. The price achieved of AUD 18,000.00 (€ 10,890.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Crooke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian The Shell, which sold at auction in April 2008 for AUD 72,000.00 (€ 43,561.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian First Wattle von Ray Crooke zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 18.000,00 (€ 10.890,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ray Crooke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian The Shell beobachtet, die im April 2008 für AUD 72.000,00 (€ 43.561,66) versteigert wurde.
