This artwork by Peter Hujar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work David Wojnarowicz sold for USD 132,300.00 (€ 128,160.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Peter Hujar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot David Wojnarowicz Reclining (II) sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of USD 157,500.00 (€ 136,340.03).

In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit David Wojnarowicz für USD 132.300,00 (€ 128.160,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Peter Hujar; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit David Wojnarowicz Reclining (II) im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 157.500,00 (€ 136.340,03).
