This artwork by Michelangelo Pacetti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2012. In the 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art auction, the work A huntsman at a mountainous torrent (possibly Tivoli); and A huntsman on a riverside track sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,238.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michelangelo Pacetti; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Italian Roman View Of Saint Peter'S sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).
