Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Friends, Lovers Or Nothing by Michael Manning was sold in the Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 7,100.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Manning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Little Lies in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,921.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Friends, Lovers Or Nothing von Michael Manning wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 7.100,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Manning auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Little Lies im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.921,39).
