Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mel Bochner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October this year. In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Vanishing Point (K.W. 1993.01) sold for USD 1,651.00 (€ 1,562.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mel Bochner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blah, Blah, Blah in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,249.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mel Bochner erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Vanishing Point (K.W. 1993.01) für USD 1.651,00 (€ 1.562,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mel Bochner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blah, Blah, Blah im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.249,19).
