In December 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Young Bull Riders with Dollar Bills, Boerne Rodeo, Texas by Mary Ellen Mark. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,951.09), 36% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Ellen Mark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18).

Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Bull Riders with Dollar Bills, Boerne Rodeo, Texas von Mary Ellen Mark zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.951,09) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Ellen Mark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18) versteigert wurde.
