Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Malangatana Ngwenya was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,319.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Malangatana Ngwenya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Matalana in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,898.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Malangatana Ngwenya wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.319,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Malangatana Ngwenya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Matalana im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.898,03).
