Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna, which included the work Study of the Apostles in an Assumption of the Virgin ( recto ); Head of a woman ( verso ) by Luca Giordano. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,744.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Giordano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of the Apostles in an Assumption of the Virgin ( recto ); Head of a woman ( verso ) von Luca Giordano zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.744,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Giordano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
