This artwork by Luca Giordano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2021. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Study for a lunette: Eliab, architect of the Ark of the Covenant sold for GBP 16,380.00 (€ 19,208.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Giordano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luca Giordano erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Study for a lunette: Eliab, architect of the Ark of the Covenant für GBP 16.380,00 (€ 19.208,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Giordano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
