Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Casal Cohn (Cohn Couple) by Lourdes Castro was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 18,900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lourdes Castro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cast Shadow Of André Morain With Linhof, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 48,500.00 (€ 65,903.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Casal Cohn (Cohn Couple) von Lourdes Castro im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 18.900,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lourdes Castro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cast Shadow Of André Morain With Linhof beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 48.500,00 (€ 65.903,27) versteigert wurde.
