Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Vantage Point by Lorna Simpson. The price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 38,092.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lorna Simpson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Day For Night in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 321,336.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vantage Point von Lorna Simpson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 38.092,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorna Simpson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Day For Night im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 321.336,76).
