Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A little spinner in Globe Cotton Mill, Augusta, Ga by Lewis Wickes Hine was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 17,780.00 (€ 16,824.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lewis Wickes Hine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mechanic And Steam Pump, 1921 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 228,595.18).
