This artwork by Lesser Ury achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Cologne in April last year. In the Modern & Contemporary Auction auction, the work Tiergartenstraße, Berlin sold for EUR 189,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lesser Ury - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Am Kurfürstendamm, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 674,500.00 (€ 517,413.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lesser Ury erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Auction wurde die Arbeit Tiergartenstraße, Berlin für EUR 189.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lesser Ury mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Am Kurfürstendamm beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 674.500,00 (€ 517.413,32) versteigert wurde.
