This artwork by Kasing Lung achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work We Create Chaos 2 sold for HKD 138,600.00 (€ 16,866.60) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kasing Lung have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Otto Ule (Painted In 2018) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 144,000.00 (€ 147,052.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kasing Lung erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit We Create Chaos 2 für HKD 138.600,00 (€ 16.866,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kasing Lung auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Otto Ule (Painted In 2018) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 144.000,00 (€ 147.052,17).
