Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Tailor-Made: Fashion Photographs from the Collection of Peter Fetterman, which included the work Pretty Polly by John Swannell. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,338.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Swannell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fine Lines (Lindy Christensen and Debbie Moore), which sold at auction in October this year for USD 13,970.00 (€ 13,219.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Tailor-Made: Fashion Photographs from the Collection of Peter Fetterman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pretty Polly von John Swannell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.338,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Swannell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fine Lines (Lindy Christensen and Debbie Moore) beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 13.970,00 (€ 13.219,15) versteigert wurde.
