Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trees by John Singer Sargent was sold in the American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,704.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Singer Sargent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work San Geremia in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 9,087,500.00 (€ 7,787,060.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Trees von John Singer Sargent wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.704,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Singer Sargent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit San Geremia im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.087.500,00 (€ 7.787.060,84).
